Hello, I am Yujin Komatsu. I¡¯m nine. I live in Oakland. I have been practicing my piano and violin at NCMACC since I was five.
I like going to NCMACC after school because I get to cross the Bay Bridge and go to San Francisco. I like to meet friends and teachers and people are really nice here. Ms. Kim is cool and Sofia is really nice. They are professionals in music and teaching for long time. My piano teacher, Amy, and violin teacher, Emily, are cool too.
There is lot of things to do here. You can learn piano or violin like me, or all kind of other musical lessons, i.e., cello, percussion, classical singing, etc.
Oh yeah, I really like the art class as well. I get to draw my robot, space ship and dinosaur with water color paint.
Not only kids, but adults like my mom takes music lesson here too.
Also, there are younger kids, like my sisters, Sena and Kana. Sena is six and taking piano lesson and Kana is three and takes singing lesson. Kana really likes to sing and dance at same time. At home, when Sena practice her piano, I practice my violin. So, we take turns.
Well, I¡¯m not supposed to tell you, but, NCMACC is a cool place because I get to play my computer games after my music lesson. This is a secret. I get on their office computer when my sisters are taking their lessons and I am supposed to be waiting for them.
NCMACC holds a recital to have all of their students to perform in front of audience once a year. I was kind of little bid nervous at my first one. My mom also had her first recital in May of this year. It has the first adult music recital at NCMACC. She sang some old classical Italian song. I don¡¯t remember the name of the song, but it sounded like a soprano in opera.
Anyways, I really recommend NCMACC to all of kids who are interested in music or art. It is fun and cool place to be!
Signed, Yujin Komatsu
